The BASE program seeks enthusiastic individuals to bring their talents and passion to our vibrant Preschool through the Grade 5 after school program. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage in fun, recreational, and dynamic activities in a fast-paced environment at Wayland Public Schools.

 

TITLE:
Leader in Training  (Ages 16+)

 

General Responsibilities:

• Provide support for program activities for participants while ensuring adherence to program policies and procedures.
• Build and maintain meaningful relationships with students, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
• Assist in the delivery of age-appropriate activities as directed by the Program Coordinator, Teacher, or Activity Leader.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and other assigned activities throughout the year.
• Contribute to the success of inclusion programming to ensure all students are engaged and supported.
• Perform additional duties as reasonably assigned by the Program Coordinator or Director.

Role Breakdown by Age and Experience:

• Act as a peer leader, supporting activity planning and execution under supervision.
• Continue to develop leadership skills through hands-on experience and collaboration with senior staff.
• Focus on learning program procedures and assisting in activities under close supervision.
• Develop foundational skills for working within a structured program environment.

Hours:

• Flexible schedules are available from 2:00 PM (1:00 PM on Wednesdays) to 5:00 PM or 6:00 pm, 2-5 days per week.
• We also welcome applicants interested in substitute positions.

Pay Rate:

• Competitive pay: $19.53 to $20.18 per hour, depending on experience.
